Pinterest Image Downloader — Save Pinterest Images Free in Original Quality

Save Any Pinterest Image in Full Original Resolution — Free & Watermark-Free

Pinterest is a designer’s playground — mood boards, color palettes, photography references, illustrations, recipe shots, fashion lookbooks. But Pinterest doesn’t let you save these images in their original quality. The “save” button just pins to a board. Pin Image Downloader gives you the actual file — full resolution, original format, ready for your inspiration folder, mood board, or design project.

Open Pinterest, find an image, tap Share → Copy Link, then paste it above. We deliver the original full-resolution file.

How to Save a Pinterest Image in Full Quality

Step 1. On Pinterest (browser or app), tap the image you want to save. Tap the share icon and select Copy Link.

Step 2. Paste the link into the box above and click Download.

Step 3. We’ll show you the actual resolution available — usually somewhere between 564×752 and 2000×3000 pixels depending on what the original creator uploaded. Click the download button and the image saves to your device.

The whole process typically takes 2–4 seconds.

Built for the People Who Actually Use Pinterest Images

Designers & Creatives

Building a mood board for a client? You want full-resolution reference images, not pixelated thumbnails. We pull straight from Pinterest’s /originals/ content URL whenever possible — meaning you get the highest-quality version Pinterest has, not a downscaled preview.

Marketers & Content Creators

Studying a competitor’s visual strategy? Saving inspiration for a campaign? Our tool gets you the source-quality file so you can analyze typography, color palettes, and composition properly.

Hobbyists & Inspiration Collectors

Recipe photography, wedding ideas, home decor, fashion outfits, drawing references — we make it effortless to keep them offline. No app to install, no signup, no nonsense.

Researchers

Visual research projects often need original-resolution source material. We deliver it without compression artifacts or watermarks.

What Quality Will You Get?

Pinterest stores most images at multiple sizes simultaneously. Common sizes you’ll see:

  • 236×354 to 474×600 — small thumbnails (used inside the Pinterest feed)
  • 564×752 to 736×1104 — standard board view sizes
  • Original (often 1080×1350 to 2400×3000) — what the creator actually uploaded

Our downloader automatically requests the original-size file when available. If you’ve ever used a “save image” right-click and ended up with a pixelated 474×600 thumbnail, you’ll appreciate this.

We’re honest, though: we can only deliver what Pinterest has. If a creator uploaded a 736×1104 image, that’s the best you’ll get. We won’t pretend it’s “HD” or upscale it artificially.

Supported Image Formats

Pinterest serves images in several formats. We handle them all:

  • JPG / JPEG — most common, best for photography and complex images
  • PNG — common for illustrations, logos, and images with transparency
  • WebP — Pinterest’s modern format, smaller files with same quality
  • GIF — for animated content (try our GIF Downloader for these)

The downloaded file keeps the original format — no conversion, no quality loss.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I get the actual original image, not a thumbnail?

Yes — that’s the whole point. We automatically detect the size segment in Pinterest’s image URL (like /736x/ or /474x/) and rewrite it to /originals/, which gives you the highest-quality version Pinterest stored. You should consistently see better results than right-clicking and saving directly from the Pinterest page.

What if the image is from a private board?

You need a public Pinterest URL for any download tool to work — including ours. If you own the board, make a specific image temporarily public, copy its link, then revert. We can’t access content that requires login.

Why do some images come out smaller than expected?

The simplest reason: that’s how the creator uploaded it. Pinterest doesn’t add resolution — it stores what was given. If the original is a 736-pixel-wide image, that’s the maximum you can save. We won’t fake higher resolution by upscaling.

Can I download all images from a Pinterest board at once?

Not currently. We’ve intentionally focused on one image at a time — bulk downloading often violates platform terms of service, and our priority is staying respectful of Pinterest’s infrastructure. For boards you own, Pinterest’s own export tool may help.

Do you compress or modify the file?

No. The file you download is byte-for-byte the same as what Pinterest serves. We don’t re-encode JPGs, don’t strip metadata, don’t add watermarks. What you see is what you get.

Does it work with Pinterest carousels (multi-image pins)?

Currently you can only download the first image of a multi-image pin. To get other images, view the pin in fullscreen mode on Pinterest and copy the URL of each individual image while scrolling through the carousel.

Is downloading Pinterest images legal?

You should only download images you own, images licensed for free use, or images for which the creator has given you permission. Most Pinterest content is copyrighted by the original creator. Check our Disclaimer for the full picture.

How do I save the image on iPhone?

After clicking Download, your iPhone will either save directly to Photos or place the file in your Files app’s Downloads folder (depending on your browser). For Safari, look for the download icon in the URL bar; for Chrome on iOS, check the bottom toolbar for the download notification.

What about Android?

On Android, downloads typically go to your Downloads folder by default and appear in your Gallery app’s “Download” album. Most Android browsers also show a notification at the bottom of the screen when a download finishes.

Is this site affiliated with Pinterest?

No. Pin Image Downloader is independent — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Pinterest, Inc. “Pinterest” is a trademark of Pinterest, Inc.; we use the word descriptively.
